HOME > MIXED MEDIA > The black plastic wing on this bird is the first piece of trash that inspired and initiated my foray into "trash" or recycled art sculpture. Over a two year period I collected pieces one by one that finally completed my "bird". "Bird of Protection" was awarded First Place in Oakland California's annual recycled art competition, "Trash to Treasures," in 1994.
